First Floor Trading runs exclusively on your own Topstep / TopstepX account via the ProjectX API. Follow the five steps below to generate a key — it takes about two minutes.
Go to topstep.com and sign in. If you don't have one yet, fund a Topstep Combine first — First Floor Trading cannot trade without a connected Topstep account.
From the Topstep dashboard, launch TopstepX (Topstep's trading platform powered by ProjectX).
Inside TopstepX, open Account → API Access. This is where personal API keys are managed.
Click Generate API Key and copy the key immediately — TopstepX shows it only once. Also note your TopstepX username (you'll need both).
After checkout, you'll land on our onboarding screen. Paste your username and API key there — they're stored encrypted and only readable by your own account. Your desk is fully private from every other trader on the platform.
